Nel 2019 Michele Mari pubblica una seconda edizione del fototesto Asterusher. Autobiografia per feticci, con l’aggiunta di sedici pagine. La riscrittura diventa innanzitutto una ricomposizione grafica e una nuova disposizione delle pagine, la cui sequenza si dimostra un ampliamento, grazie ad alcune necessarie integrazioni, oppure un’intensificazione di nuclei tematici, sviluppati soprattutto a partire dalle relazioni genitoriali che erano state al centro di Leggenda privata. Like many of Wenders’ films, the book Una volta (Einmal. Bilder und Geschichten, 1994; Once: Pictures and Stories) is the result of a fruitful encounter between different arts. Wenders now takes on the role of photographer and narrator, while never completely abandoning the more usual role of director. The beginning of every short composition in Einmal, associated with one or more images, is the usual one of fairy tales. A recent expanded edition of the book Asterusher by Michele Mari (2015 and 2019) suggests some reflections on the completeness of autobiographical discourse. The composition of the autobiographical phototext, with a systematic tripartite form and inspired by the tradition of the emblem, is identical in the two versions. The addition of some pages has not changed the original structure of the volume but asks questions about the possibilities of revision and/or completion of an autobiographical narrative, about the possibilities of rewriting an autobiography in the form of a diary, almost like a “curriculum” with continuous updating.
